As children, most of us were taught that intelligence correlates with success. Get straight A's, and you're all but guaranteed to be a doctor, or an astronaut, or a successful entrepreneur. Fail, and well, you can kiss a good career goodbye. That, we were told, was just the way it is. 

But while intelligence is undoubtedly important, has shown that intellect is not the sole indicator of success. In fact, it’s not even close to the most important. Eight different attributes are considered more predictive of career advancement than just being smart.
